RODNEY ATKINS PUTS THE EMPHASIS ON GIVING RATHER THAN RECEIVING FOR HIS BIRTHDAY

Atkins and Rose Falcon Atkins to hold special StageIt concert benefiting Holston United Methodist Home for Children on Tuesday, March 31

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (March 30, 2015) –Rodney Atkins is celebrating his birthday this year by celebrating a good cause – and one that hits particularly close to home. On Tuesday, March 31, Atkins and his wife, Rose Falcon Atkins, will host “Rod & Rosey's 2nd Annual Livin' Room Live Show” on StageIt to benefit the Holston United Methodist Home for Children.

Joined by special guests The Himms, the Atkinses will perform an intimate two-hour show via livestream starting at 7:30 p.m. CST. Fans can buy tickets for $5 with all proceeds going to the Holston United Methodist Home for Children in Greeneville, Tenn. Atkins spent a portion of his childhood at the home before being adopted.

The night’s biggest tippers will win prizes donated by musicians and athletes. The top donation will earn a 30-minute live StageIt concert with the Atkinses on a mutually-determined date. Eric Church, Tim McGraw, Josh Thompson, Bon Jovi, Brett Eldredge, Alison Krauss & Union Station and NASCAR drivers Kevin Harvick, Danica Patrick, Elliott Sadler and many others donated items to the cause.

“I’ve been so blessed in my life and my career, and I wouldn’t be who I am today without the people at Holston Home helping me along and placing me with my adoptive family,” Atkins said. “Giving back is important no matter how much you have. I try to live that and to teach my son to do the same, and to have so many come out and support this cause for my birthday means the world to me.”

Atkins released his fifth Curb Records album, Rodney Atkins – Greatest Hits, in February and his new single, “Eat Sleep Love You Repeat” is impacting country radio. He’s a longtime supporter of adoption services and is a former spokesman for the National Council for Adoption. He often returns to Holston Home to visit.
