Rodney Atkins Is Calling On You!
In the wake of the recent storms to hit the southeast, country star Rodney Atkins is teaming up with WRIL-The Big 106 and Massey Ferguson to raise money for disaster relief for a few of the hardest hit communities - Harrogate, TN, West Liberty, KY, and East Bernstadt, KY. Like so many other towns across the U.S., Atkins’ hometown of Harrogate had tornados rip through the town leveling homes and causing mass destruction on Friday, March 2. Atkins joins WRIL in an all-day radio drive Tuesday, March 13 to encourage listeners to donate what they can to help those affected begin to pull their lives back together.
“When you see where people’s lives are destroyed, and everything they’ve worked for is gone in an instant, it makes you want to help,” said Atkins. “This especially hit me hard because it’s where I grew up. I know the community will pull together to overcome the hardships, but anything we can do to help them out will be greatly appreciated.”
Atkins and Massey Ferguson have both offered to match donations made tomorrow up to $15,000 in an attempt to raise as much as possible to help those in need. To contribute to the relief fund, please visit the Donations page.
